1. Flipbook Animation by iPod
For iPods that can display photgraphs, we started to provide time-series images of typhoons that can be viewed as animations. Using the click wheel of iPod, you can see the flipbook animation of typhoon images by just spinning the wheel. That is, if you scroll through typhoon images taken every hour, it looks just like the animation typhoon clouds.
The advantage of iPod is in the comfortable feeling of the click wheel. Doing fast-forward, slow-forward, and rewinding ... any operations at will. Just spinning the click wheel, and you can follow the movement of images with a best speed for you. This interactive feeling is the biggest difference from just viewing animations, and I think iPod can be widely used for education and exhibition purposes by taking advantage of this feature.

First download ZIP-compressed files from the list below. If you uncompress the files, you see several hundred images in the JPEG format in folders named after typhoon numbers. Finally transfer those images to iPod using iTunes. Please refer to manuals of iTunes and iPod for the detail of the method.
