About the Failures of the Website

"Digital Typhoon" has not been accessible for a few days due to two system failures. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Our response to the failure, and prospects for recovery is explained below.

Failures of DNS (Domain Name System)

The official URL of "Digital Typhoon" Website, http://www.digital-typhoon.org/, has not been accessible since around February 12. This problem appears to be the problem of DNS, but we still haven't determined the cause of the problem, and haven't started the recovery process.

We however put off the solving of this problem because we have other important problems now. We kindly request users to access another URL http://agora.ex.nii.ac.jp/digital-typhoon/ before the recovery. Thank you for your cooperation. We still do not have a clear idea about the date of recovery.

Failure of the System

In February, we are upgrading the system while operating the Website. In the middle of this proess, we had an unexpected system failure in the afternoon of February 14, and the operation of the system was impossible to continue until 13:30 of February 16. This failure was already solved. This failure is not related to the storage system, so there is no loss of data.

The upgrade of the system is still in progress, so a small failure could occur for the time being. Thank you for your cooperation.
