1. Typhoon Information on Twitter

We are interested in using "microblog (miniblog)" for the dissemination and aggregation of typhoon information. For this purpose, we selected Twitter as an example of a microblogging service, and started an experiment using Twitter.

• Viewing Typhoon Information : Following Twitter / DigitalTyphoonE (English) or Twitter / DigitalTyphoon (Japanese), you will receive typhoon information at every three hours.
• Sending Typhoon Information : Twiphoon is collecting information from Twitter users so please reply to twiphoon on Twitter.
• Grouping Typhoon Information : We use hashtags for tweets from DigitalTypoonE and tweets to Twiphoon. For example, Typhoon 200901 has hashtags "#kujira" that represents the Asian name of the typhoon and "#TY200901" that represents the typhoon number. These hashtags help us to classify tweets by typhoons easily.

2. AMeDAS Heavy Rain Information on Twitter

Information on heavy rain is automatically detectect at AMeDAS Event Detection and we feed the information to AMeDASrain on Twitter. At this moment, this service is available in Japanese only.
