Following the switchover from GMS-5
to GOES-9, we show two images from two satellites as below. Those
two satellites have slightly different characterstic in terms of
sensor resolution and bandwidth, and the position of the geostationary
satellite is far apart. Hence the direct comparison of images requires
careful treatment. In addition, coherent noise is quite apparent on
GOES-9 visible imagery, which indicates that the quality of GOES-9
sensors are lower than GMS-5 sensors.
