Typhoon USAGI was formed in east of Philippines. It is forecast to make a turn in north of Luzon Island and may move toward Taiwan and Sakishima Islands.
After the birth of Typhoon USAGI, there are four active typhoons simultaneously in the Western North Pacific basin. This is a relatively rare event. The maximum number is five, which is known as Olympic (five-ring) typhoon. You can see the number of active typhoons for each day in the Tropical Cyclone Formation and Activity Calendar.
