Typhoon FAXAI is increasing its speed to 95km/h, passing Izu Islands, and it will move away to the east from Kanto Region as early as this evening. It is going to be an extratropical cyclone, but is not weakening, so heavy rains and strong winds were recorded at Hachijyo Island and Miyake Island (reference: AMeDAS Event Detection and AMeDAS Precipitation Ranking on Google Maps). The maximum gust of 42.5m/s was recorded at Hachijo Island, and 24-hours rain of about 430mm was recorded at Miyake Island, which broke the record. It rushed through south of Kanto Region from south of Okinawa in just one day and a half.
