Typhoon MALOU turned east and is approaching to the northern part of Kyushu. It also slightly intensified after passing the 30N line. In comparison to the wind-significant typhoon of Typhoon KOMPASU, this typhoon seems to be rain-significant typhoon. Weather radar indicates the onset of heavy rains in Goto Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture, and probably later in Tsushima Islands. The rainy clouds in the center are not well organized, but a few well-developed clouds can be seen around the center.

Typhoon MALOU has moved on a zigzag track and passed in the west of Okinawa main island. This typhoon has a relatively large gust wind circle with a relatively weak intensity, which indicates that the center of the typhoon is not fixed. The forecast says that the typhoon will move north and turn east.

Typhoon MALOU was formed in south of Japan. This typhoon is forecast to move on almost the same track with Typhoon KOMPASU, just a little more south in parallel. Two typhoons move on the wind from the south blowing on the periphery of subtropical high pressure system in the Pacific, so they move on almost the same track as long as the intensity of the high pressure system is stable for five days ago and today.
