Typhoon PEIPAH was formed in Caroline Islands. It will move westward to pass in south of Palau. Four typhoon formations by April 5 is the third fastest pace in recorded history, after 1965 and 1967. By the way, the formation of the typhoon occurred very south at 3.8N, which is the 5th smallest latitude (= the nearest to the equator) in the ranking of latitutde at birth. A typhoon, however, cannot move across the equator, so its cloud system will not develop beyond the equator.
