Typhoon HIGOS was formed in Marshall Islands. Please note the formation time of this typhoon. As explained in
"True" typhoon season, the period between February 8 and February 14 is known to be an "blank period," which means that no typhoons were ever observed since 1951. Typhoon HIGOS started to reach this unexplored period and fill the blank. If Typhoon HIGOS survives for one week, the blank that have existed for 65 years will be finally filled. This is a rare event to set a new record.
